PES 2011 will be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2, PSP and PC in the autumn – and Konami reckons the Pro Evolution Soccer videogame series is about to undergo the most radical revamp in its history. Central to its total freedom of play, PES 2011 introduces a power bar for each player that allows the gamer to determine the exact strength and placement of every pass and shot. Balls can now be spread absolutely anywhere with utter precision, with long balls into space, short passes to feet and intricate one-twos allowing the player to dictate play and control the tempo of a match. And with the game’s new defender AI, defenders now hold their positions naturally, no longer chasing any ball that enters their area; preferring to close down the attacker and force them into a mistake. Konami has also totally reworked every element of in-game animation. Ambient animation adds immensely to the in-game atmosphere, as players behave realistically when off the ball, and walk and run with a variety of individual styles. After a year of teasers, innuendos, and anticipation for official details, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today revealed a long-awaited trailer at its 2010 E3 press conference for the next installment of the METAL GEAR SOLID® franchise. Coming to PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and for the very first time on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the trailer reveals first gameplay footage from METAL GEAR SOLID® RISING. This third person action game will debut a completely new engine and an updated look for one of the franchises main heroes, Raiden, last seen in METAL GEAR SOLID®2: SONS OF LIBERTY from 2001. Historically known to make appearances in several METAL GEAR SOLID titles, Raiden will be completely re-vamped with upgraded cyborg technology resulting in a fluid style of gameplay simply described as ‘Lightning Bolt Action’.

Most prominent figures in the video game industry usually recoil when they’re given all the credit for coming up with the idea for one of their studio’s games. The same apparently can’t be said for Hideo Kojima — according to CVG , the mind behind Metal Gear Solid recently explained the origins of some of the concepts in Peace Walker during an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine: “Well it’s strange, but not so many ideas come from the other staff,” Kojima humbly stated. The idiosyncratic developer also pointed out, “Co-op Ring, Love Box – the names and the ideas come from myself,” later adding “I am taking charge of the overall game design.” We’re pretty excited by this fact
