Classic Game Room HD reviews PLAYSTATION HOME for August 2010 with the Star Wars Cantina Bar location and new 30th anniversary The Empire Strikes Back outfits available in the LucasArts store in the Playstation Home Mall. Dress up as Lando, Bossk, Chewbacca, C3PO, an AT-AT Driver, the Snow Stormtrooper and more. Most outfits run a few bucks but the Cantina Bar on Mos Eisley is free (but dry as a desert). Also reviewed is the PS Home Playstation Boombox available at the Playground which plays music in your Home apartment or personal space. Sometimes your invited friends can hear the music too! Playstation Home is a free area for PS3 owners who want to run around and meet people, although it’s best experienced with friends and a few add-ons. PES 2011 will be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2, PSP and PC in the autumn – and Konami reckons the Pro Evolution Soccer videogame series is about to undergo the most radical revamp in its history. Central to its total freedom of play, PES 2011 introduces a power bar for each player that allows the gamer to determine the exact strength and placement of every pass and shot. Balls can now be spread absolutely anywhere with utter precision, with long balls into space, short passes to feet and intricate one-twos allowing the player to dictate play and control the tempo of a match. And with the game’s new defender AI, defenders now hold their positions naturally, no longer chasing any ball that enters their area; preferring to close down the attacker and force them into a mistake. Konami has also totally reworked every element of in-game animation. Ambient animation adds immensely to the in-game atmosphere, as players behave realistically when off the ball, and walk and run with a variety of individual styles. Classic Game Room HD reviews DAMNATION for Playstation 3, this game is also on Xbox 360 and PC. The PS3 version features trophies for Damnation and multiplayer. This game is a mixed bag of something… it’s really cool on one hand and pretty clumsy in the other. This CGRHD review has Damnation gameplay showing game play in action for Damnation on PS3 (and Xbox 360 probably looks the same). A shooter that takes place in the future but it’s also the past, or maybe the present but somewhere a few minutes ago that you just missed. Who cares… it’s the Wild West in science fiction zany-town. You are some guy with a big hat and several guns who has Indian spirit-vision and travels with a busty, cleavage packing sidekick. Shoot steam powered machine guns, ride steam powered motorcycles and fight steam powered robots. Damnation is a “Steampunk” video game… I read that somewhere. Steam Punk… seriously? An alternate future that uses steam like we use magic! Damnation gets pretty bad reviews and I’ll agree it is not for everyone, but it does pack an awesome sense of scale and if you can get sucked into the crazy storyline you may enjoy the game. You may not… it’s not a smooth game, Damnation is clunky and at times poorly programmed. Bad guy AI is third string and the vehicles suck. But the scale and epic sci-fi feeling are pretty cool.
