HD-ified. Fullscreen for best quality. This is a video, obviously, of how one can replace a hard drive in a PS3 slim, be it due to the hard drive failing, wanting to expand, or wanting to swap it for the hard drive in their computer. It’s quick, it’s easy, it doesn’t void the warrenty….it’s similar to the Xbox, but it’s swappable with regular hard-drives, and requires a bit more work to get to. Now before I get comments, I’ll bet there will be TWO topics of confusion: The backup. You will need either a thumbdrive or external(USB) Hard drive. first, sync up your trophies with the server. If you have a Hard Drive, you can back up your data WITH the games installed, but if you have a thumb drive, it should be at least 4 GB, and you need to delete all of your installed games. Second: The hard drive! If you can, format it as FAT32 before putting it in the PS3. You need a 2.5 inch Serial ATA/SATA 5400RPM(Rotation per minute) hard drive, standard laptop size. The problem is, if you use a higher RPM hard drive, you will overheat your slim, or give it a hardware error. If you use lower, you won’t have as good performance…and might give it a hardware error.
